Mr J. Krafft, a really nice man, very charming and rather brilliant,
one of the great men of Pynchon criticism, is also, I believe
the Father of the Pynchon list, having been among those 
who gave birth to what we do here, before there was Netscape, 
Eudora or even a few of our younger listers, many (5,6?) years ago, 
boldly going where no man has---Patrick, is that you?
