Gary Thompson notes, of the album THE FOOL:
"The record was produced by Graham Nash--released by Mercury records, and BMI
has publication rights. Cut 3 on side one is called "Rainbow Man," and
cut 1 on side two, "Reincarnation." That's all the relevance I see."
I seem to recall that the group had some connection to Apple Records and/or
McCartney--were they also into fashion design? There was a ROLLING STONE
review of the album when it came out. I have long thought that Pynchon
picked up the name of the group (which takes its name from the tarot card--
another GR connection) after they were mentioned in a TIME magazine cover
story on renewed interest in magic/occult, etc.--March 21, 1969 issue.
