Errors or tweaks?
My following of the various spoiler threads is spotty, so please forgive if this has been 
mentioned, but the subject of geographical errors reminds me of a little comment around 
p. 134 or so regarding one of the Longitude proposals, one that relied on *alternate 
mappings* (don't have a copy before me).  As always in TRP--this is especially true of 
GR--one has to be careful to note that *errors* are often--tweakings--of our reality frame (a
 signature of Nabokov too, as all residents of New Wye know).  I think this novel, like 
GR, is among  other things, Pyn's continuing play w/ the alternate universe/alternate 
history/alternate geography genre, as we have discussed in the past re: GR.  I'm not saying 
there can be no errors, only that one has to consider the alternative before judging  every 
counterfact an *error.*
