****Minor (Maybe) Spoiler****















I've been skipping anything spoiler'd for the past week or so, so I don't
know if this (or something along this's line) has been addressed yet, but
since people're talking about echoes, I think there're echoes of both V.
and GR when "some mischievous Sailor, forever inidentified amid the eager
Rush for the Enty of this fifth- or sixth- most-notorious Haunt upon the
Point" shouts "Fender-Belly is buying!" echoed some hundreds of years
later when another Bodine (Pig) "announced in a loud voice, 'sounds like
Chow Down."  In both cases a Bodine instigated a rush to the bar.  The
other, and this may be a stretch, is Mason and Dixon's visit to Hepsie and
Jessica and Roger's visit to the White Visitation lady's (whose name
escapes me) seance at the beginning of GR.  Again, both of these are a bit
of a stretch (since neither're anthropomorphic and as obvious to the naked
eye as a talking dog'd be) . . .
