Though I hate to share any personal info anymore (hmmmm) Henry, who has openly
shared some of his heart's trevails with us, hits on a big topic with his question. For what
it's worth--my first wife and I met over a copy of V. We were both blown away by
Pynchon's work. Read it all together. Talked about it a lot. Marriage lasted six years.
Don't know what she thinks about M & D. My current spouse thinks P's work interesting
but not her cup of tea. Tolerates my immersion with bemusement. Overall, I like this set
up a lot better.

Anybody else got a tale hanging thereby?
