Really Big Vegetables

goes back a long ways, perhaps back to the days of the Vikings.  Even early
American photography includes trick pix of giant vegetables."

All of which perhaps harkens back to the first Israelite scouts to enter
Canaan (I do not have book, chapter and verse at hand but it
s from the Pentateuch or maybe Joshua) who came back with giant bunches
of grapes and other stuff.
