"A Rotten Olive in the Martini"

A short essay by Sojourner on
the failings of the Brahman Priest,
Thomas "Saint" Ruggles Pynchon.

---
Who says you can't criticize TRP here? I personally
find his love of the restaurant "Waffle House"* to be
abhorrent -- it offends every particle of morality inside
of me. It is an ethical violation of the spirit and
gumption of this fine, fine nation to patronize a
restaurant which serves hamburgers, but not french
fries!**

Undeniably and reliably disgusting!
----

* The Waffle House chain of restaurants is
owned by TRP's cousin (twice removed) and TRP
mentioned eating there in 1959 (cf. Jules Siegel) in
an article for the "Penultimate Review of Post-
Modernistic Literature" (a supplement of "Scriblerian
and the Kit-Cats") in a survey of literary settings
in a menu or menuesque context (specifically, the
"maple syrup" section, (page 24)).

** Note, the use of the term "french fries" in
this essay refers to potatoes sliced into long
sticks, and fried in vegetable oil and not an
advocacy for denying any Quebecois*** their
ambition to form their own tiny dictatorship.

*** This does not refer to Howard Stern's
recent comments on french-speaking Canadians
(or Nucks), but in effect, does agree with
his position.
