taken from an article on the Diana media coverage:

"One of the many, many things to get swept over in the
Diana Deluge are the recent media sightings of Don
Delillo, the great and famously media-shy writer.
With a major new book - Underworld - about to be
released, the recluse is stepping out, just a bit.

He flashes by in a one-page glimpse in the September
GQ. And in the midst of the New Yorker's Sept 15
Diana issue, David Remnick's thoughtful profile/
interview is easy to overlook. Mr. Delillo's comments
illustrate how rare it is to encounter someone in the
media slipstream who you aren't tired of reading about,
who says things you haven't heard a thousand times
before.

It's like watching a comet that passes through the night
sky every generation or so; we finally have a chance to
catch a glimpse of Mr. Delillo and enjoy the cool trail of
worlds he leaves behind. "
