I love Sojourner and Steven Maas.  Rilly I do.  So I hope they don't mind
my pointing out that this exchange is a classic example of what does not
belong on the Pynchon list--particularly without any indication in the
header that it has nothing to do with Pynchon.

Got something friendly but non-Pynchony to share?  Make it private--that
makes it even friendlier.  Feel the urge to let everyone on the list know
you've got something friendly but non-Pynchony to share?  At least be
up-front about it in your Subject line.
