Grogan was (is?) an interesting character, in that for many years a whole 
lot of us thought he was a purely fictional character.  The Diggers 
always mentioned him when they were talking to the public, and all sorts 
of things were attributed to him in such a way that the big red HOAX 
lights always started to flash in the mind of the listener.  But of 
course it was double-deep.

Ringolevio is a novelized autobiography, and for my money it's mighty bad 
writing, insufferably self-congratulatory, and probably 50% fabrication 
-- but still an important document of the 60's.
