Tunnels  riddle subterranean Beijing, running beneath Tiananmen Square,
connecting the Great Hall of the People and the Museum of the Chinese
Revolution and Chinese History  across the square -- tunnels used to bloody
and repressive effect to mass soldiers for the final assault on the
democracy demonstrators June 4, 1989.
