Oh yas.  And just for the nihilistic fun of it here's a spoiler, end of 
Ch. 51, after M&D have been to visit a limestone cavern -- the last 
sentence has them returning "from the World beneath the World to the Line 
beneath the Heavens."  Nice, especially, with Henry Kingman's shiny new 
reading of "lines."
