A long while back someone asked about the use of capitalization in M&D.  I
just got back to school and my email, so please excuse the massive delay in
reply.  At one point, while discussing cult-like groups, Pynchon capitalizes ECP, TRP, and then KFC:  Elizabeth Clair Prophet, TRP, and Kentucky Fried 
Chicken--all beings with their own unique groupies. . . I'll try to find thepage this evening -- it could be paranoia, but I got a chuckle out of it.
