Concerning the pain suffered by women compared to men:

A friend doing Natural Childbirth Trust training came back from one class
with a tale of some tribe where at childbirth the male partner crouched in
the rafters of the hut with a cord tied round his balls and the loose end
gripped by the woman below as she gave birth. This ensured that he shared
in the pain of the experience.

Last night employing the trash TV method of avoiding going to bed I watched
some of Hannie Caulder, (a naff Raquel Welch movie) One reasonably
smartarse line.

"You're a hard woman..."
"There are no hard women, only soft men"
