Subject: Re: childbirth etc./AND P CONTENT!
Some people are scrabbling to attach some belated P-list relevance to
this long-running debate, but for me it's too far gone. I joined the
p-list a few weeks ago to hopefully read a few daily nuggets about
TRP, but every morning when I log on I have to wade through reams of
increasingly personal postings on a subject which may once have had
some Pynchon relevance, but has now become irrelevant to the p-list.
I won't dignify this sorry display by describing it as a debate,
'slanging match' would be more appropriate. There are some people on
this list who actually want to discuss Pynchon and his works, but they
kinda get lost in all the flames flying around.
I don't want to sound hippy-dippy about this, but whilst you are all
entitled to your opinions, express them - don't impose them. I would
dearly love to bang some of your metaphorical heads together - a group
of supposedly intelligent adults behaving like children.
C F Albert - stop being so aggressive, antagonistic and insulting
Dana - please spend a little less time on your high horse. History may
not do us men many favours, but not everything bad in the world
is the result of a phallocentric conspiracy
Vaska - Stop obuscating by referring to books/'experts' that you know
damn well none of us have read/heard of. I consider myself a
reasonably intelligent man, but I seldom know what the hell
you're talking about, and other postings would suggest other
people feel likewise.
Anyway, I have gone on long enough. I shall be cancelling my
subscription to the p-list, so you can flame me all you like in my
absence.
Good luck to those remaining whose purpose is noble and true - you know
who you are.
Byeeee.....
