Peaceful Greg, who, after the crystalline observation that "the truth
is difficult to explain" to a five-year-old, not to mention anyone
     else, claims :

     >I'm not educated

Balderdash, sez I. A learned soul has uncloaked himself with a wise
     and heartfelt post.

I read a bunch of books at a time, too. Like now: I continue on my
beloved and endless circumnavigation with the mad Quixote; I ruminate
with Rumi; I do a steely twitch with Whiteout; I howl, billow, and wag
with Lawrence; I swing, slowly, with Vineland...

As most of these folks know, I wasn't able to get through Gravity's
Rainbow until I joined the list. Tried for a decade, stopped, failed,
tried again, stopped again. Richard Romeo, il miglior discepolo, found
me languishing in the cyber-wasteland, vainly contemplating the great
unrealized motherquest with a bunch of calcified librarians. Now, I'm
     thinking I must be home...

The collective erudition and insight displayed here, as well as the
overall tetchy-ness, crankiness, and mysterious sexy-ness, is often
staggering. Don't let it get to you. (It gets to me all the time.)
     Test us again.

     (Re)peace(ed), repast, ripost(e),

     Chris
