Me:
Prolly not, but the aficionado will expect to see "signs" that mark the art
as having come from the artist, such as use of color, brushstroke
techniques, etc.  We look for the same things in Pynchon:  signs that
indicate the book was written by him, such as sentence structure, and things
like humor, pathos, etc, that while other authors can duplicate, those
others cannot replicate.  Call it style, call it whatever, I call it
inimitably Pynchon.

If it's Pynch, it's in there.
