I'll try to set this canard to rest one more time. I have spoken out
against anonymous posters who use Pynchon-L as their personal toilet bowl,
insulting, provoking, and otherwise trolling for flames. Some Pynchon-L
participants manage to remain anonymous and to refrain from such tactics. I
prefer Internet discussions where people are known by their names -- such
as The Well -- because I believe this leads them to take responsibility for
what they post. I am not against "anonymity" per se.
