Why are "we" responsible for the sanctions? They were the consequence
of Saddam's willful violation of the agreement which ended his
adventure into Kuwait. Here is a guy who has not hesitated to gas
Iranians, Kurds, and his fellow Iraquis ( assuming we can grant those
referred to as "marsh-arabs" a national identity). He has used his
missles on civilian targets of NON-combatants. I don't know that it
gets much worse.
Sometimes a despot is just a despot.

Then what would YOU do?

I'd heartily agree with the last sentiment, but we can't always
operate on the level of elevated principle, sometimes life gets
dirty.
