I think I read clientele as Vanya, Rudi and Rebecca. Clients of the
revolutionary cell (or whatever it is) so to speak. She seems to have 
little respect for them. Maybe she thinks of her looks in anticipation of
more productive amorous pursuits in the baths. 

You could also read 'long employment' as her wasted time with Franz.

Parsing is good and necessary for following along, but trying for too
exact a parse in P is in my experience counterproductive. For one thing it
is often impossible. At other times it gets you too locked into some
position which is ultimately unsustainable. I prefer to go for general
impressions, when possible. Leni is dissatisfied with life under the
Republic for a variety of reasons. The 'clientele' may be merely the
status quo.
