Apropos someone who believes in a spiritual flow of moments, Leni is an
addict of street violence because it brings one to the level where time
slows and actions fit perfectly into their groove. This foreshadows the
street-experiences of Frenesi and Weed in VL.
----------
(158.36) the level you reach when you lose your fear, you lose it all,
you've penetrated the moment [...] she even tried [...] to explain it to
Franz as [delta]t approaching zero, eternally approaching, the slices of
time growing thinner and thinner, a succession of rooms each with walls more
silver, transparent, as the pure light of the zero comes nearer...
----------
The Zero with which Leni is fascinated is the moment of Death. That moment
is part-and-parcel with street violence. This approach to Death is thus a
form of meditation-through action, where fear is banished by the immediate
need of now, pure action.
