Thanks, an excellent critique indeed. Perchance this is the same John
Searle who took on my one time (pseudo-)hero Jacques Derrida in a rather
unashamed academic flame war a few years back?

I like the observer-independent and observer-relative distinction. But
what say electricity = pizza? There isn't a lot wrong with that part of
Kurzweil's metaphor.

Nice touch on *Futurama* last night where "Count Chocula" cereal had
evolved into "Grand-Archduke Chocula". In name only, of course.
