What is Tchitcherine's "moral state"? 338.10 Does it exist at the time he
is scavenging the Zone? (It seems to be populated by the dead...students
who have died under the wheels of carriages, and the like.)

What are the perceptible hazards of love, of attachment? 338.18

Is "red dzurt" a reference to Michelangelo Antonioni's film "Red Desert"?
Is its plot apposite? 338.34

TRP translates Line 20 of Rilke's Tenth Duino Elegy "to trample spoorless
the white marketplace." 341.18,341.38 Weisenberger cites Leishman and
Spenders translation, "tread beyond trace the market of comfort." Doesn't
it seem odd that TRP would see a white market as a market of comfort?
Elsewhere in GR it is black markets that seem friendly, organic. Aren't
white markets markets-of-pain?

I kept wondering whether Luba was human, or a bird? She seems to speak
eight words. 343.22 But the descriptions of her are avian 339.33, 340.37 or
ambiguous. 339.26

And maybe some good Marxist (or Hegelian) can march through the particulars
for me on this one: what is the Galina/Luba/Tchitcherine dialectic? Do we
know the elements in tension? Is any synthesis implied? 339.26
