January 11, 1999 very witty issue of WSJ has a special edition enclosed -a
replica of a would-be issue of January 1, 1000. With topics such as this
one in the front World-Wide column:
Explorer Leif Ericsson disclosed plans to sail to Greenland, the island
colonized by his father, Erik the Red, in 981. Ericsson may also try to
find a mysterious forested land far to the west that other Norwegians
spotted briefly in 985.
