A few months back, a covey of us--Millison, the missed-by-many (myself
included) Matthew Wiener, me, others--engaged in a debate that included an
exchange of views that touched in part upon Thomas Kuhn's ideas about the
history of science.
One step down on the flow chart of the argument was an article about Kuhn by
Steven Weinberg in the New York Review of Books (October 8, 1998), around
which a part of the argument centered.
For those of you who might (still) be interested in this, an exchange appears
in the most recent edition of NYRB between Weinberg and one Alex Levine, a
professor of philosophy at Lehigh University, about points raised by Weinberg
re Kuhn in his article.
It lacks the entertaining rancor so often the pith and point of NYRB letter
exchanges, but it is fairly enlightening on a couple of points.
FYI.
