<< Another example of this involvement of american companies in Germany´s WWII
efforts: The backbone of the german transport system was the Opel
Blitz-truck.
Opel was and is the german sub-company of GM...
In 1940 GM´s president even received the iron cross. But of course you can´t
expect the american government to mess with a company this size...

Another excellent book on the subject of corporate amorality is Charles
Higham's 1983 classic _Trading with the Enemy: An Expose of the
Nazi-American Money Plot 1933-1949_.
Especially interesting is the role of General Aniline & Film (GAF), a
subsidiary of IG Farben and their contacts with both GM & Ford. A lot of
Texas oil supplied the Wehrmacht as well. Big tankers steamed out of
Galveston bound for Rio & Lisbon, from whence it was transported to German
refineries in occupied Europe. Brazil eventually joined the Allies, but
Portugal remained "neutral" under the fascist dictator Salazar.
