Let's keep in mind that Kubrick asked Warner to stop showing _A 
Clockwork Orange in England_ to avoid controversy.  Since showing the 
film is a copyright violation, it is technically illegal, and will 
always be illegal to show the movie in England.

I always found this move strange on his part and because of it, I 
have a hard time sympathizing with him when it comes to issues of 
free speech.
