Yeah, I did like "Paths" but "Wartime Lies" was different, it would've easily 
smoked "Schindler's List" with the tale of Polish Jews masquerading as 
Catholics during the chaos of Warsaw in World War 2. the book has elements of 
Wajda's "Kanal" and, interestingly, brings to mind unfilmed elements of 
Hasford's excellent "The Short Timers", basis for "Full Metal Jacket".
