I like root beer too but I think Mug stinks -- just sickly-sweet sugar water
with no real flavor. The best was always Hires, but I'm not sure if it's still
made. And there's a good brand called "birch beer" that they sell at Two Boots'.
D'you know root beer was invented by a Quaker? (I forget who, but the idea was
to have a non-stimulating beverage for their lads). Related if only in my head
is the excellent peppery Jamaican soft drink called ginger beer.
