Last night I read the whole EWS thread (>600 messages!) in Salon's "Table Talk"
boards, trying to figure out how someone could like the movie -- I'm still in the
dark. OTOH, there was an interesting off-topic flame war towards the top of the
thread, over the question of whether Nabokov thought Dickens' Bleak House to be
sentimal. Interesting reading, particularly in that it was capped off by one
poster saying he was "laughing my ass off" -- someone else wrote back, "If we post
frequently enough, will it lead to an assless society?"
