The "event" in November 1963 was a national tragedy for us. It was a
personal tragedy as well for JFK Jr. From my perspective, JFK Jr's life
exemplified a graceful triumph over many "obstacles" : his father's
assassination, his forced life-long thrust into celebrity, his fortune and
beauty. I never knew the guy, but, after viewing hours of interview footage
as well as the testimony of his long-term close friends, I'd say he was a
solid soul, which is amazing considering what he could have turned out to
be.
As for blame-laying, I'd say it's thick-headed to be so judgmental.
