Thanks Keith, I missed that. I wonder what that would entail? From
Pirate's comments it would seem there is an element of danger or dirt
involved, incommensurate with Jessica's youth, beauty and apparent
innocence in his opinion. I'd also forgotten about Pirate's
self-consciously idealistic "concern" and "fondness" for the young
lovers. I imagine this will become significant again somewhere down the
track -- apart from characterising Pirate as a romantic despite his
cynicism, and ushering the Scorpia reminiscence, as it does.
