Take note if you live in New York: Stanley Kubrick's first professional
film, The Killing, starring the inimitable Spencer Tracy, is showing at
MoMA this afternoon at 2:30. I'm not sure I will be able to make it but
I sure hope I can. Also: at 6:00 is Paths of Glory. Thursday they're
showing Dr. Strangelove and Lolita.

On the film tip: this weekend I saw an amazing, amazing movie (alas, I
saw it on video): Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution. The
stars were Charles Laughton, Tyrone (!!) Powers, and Marlene Dietrich --
I finally know exactly what Katje looks like and how she acts.
