I kind of like it that literary theorists see themselves as creative
artists and, reciprocally, see creative artists as literary critics.
Didn't others besides me who found postmodernism interesting and
necessary nevertheless feel bothered by charges that overly free use was
made in literary theory of scientific and philosophical concepts--in ways
very removed from those the original owners of the concepts approved of.
Now these objections are removed. Special critical or literary
takes on various fields of expertise need no longer give disquiet.
They can be both critical and creative, both creative and critical.
