having exhausted myself calling various local (100 mile radius) used 
bookstores,  having struck out at the Temple of All That is Good 
(the Gryphon bookstore in NYC), even having gone to the length of 
calling a British division of Random House in my search for an 
unabridged copy of Decline of the West - imagine my surprise when I 
start calling stores listed as owning a copy on bibliofind.com, and 
learn that someone else is putting holds on their copies.

Anyone wanna fess up?
