NP: novels about LSD?

Anybody out there know of novels in which LSD (or other psychedelic
substance) explicitly plays a major role, either in the life of a character
or characters, or as a plot device?  Anybody know of resources (books or on
the Web) that might point me to such information?

I'm not looking for books that might have been written while on acid, or by
an author who may have taken acid -- I'm looking for novels where LSD
features significantly in the story, especially those that might express
the fears that the Establishment had when LSD use first surfaced as a
phenomenon in the 60s and later.
