The Church and Weather Forecasting

FWIW:

I came across the fact that a few centuries ago, the Church forebade any 
weather forecasting as a sign of necromancy and all in all naughty 
interests.  Kinda interesting anecdote, seeing as the Jesuits would want to 
keep that global balooning messenger service free of areas of inclement 
weather.
