I think Hoberman was suggesting that the film wasn't finished at the time
of Kubrick's death, and that, although Time Warner has tried to cover that
up in promoting and marketing the movie, the truth may be found in the
film's non-Kubrickian flaws. I feared as much in the months prior to the
film's release, and felt the same way after I finally saw it.
