Mechanical dream

Here's something about the dream of a light moving "along and down" in a
particular normal pattern and its normalcy suddenly being broken,
ominous, p. 137; is that the moving light is like the line on a hospital
device, say an electroencephalogram -- and the breaking of the regular
movement is a psychotic episode, "something wrong with the day" so to
speak. -- Could the "abreaction of the Lord of Night" not be insanity as
easily as it could death? Also much later, when we get to the Kirghiz
light, we might check whether that relates to Mr. Pointsman's light. I
don't want to attempt such a project right now though.*

--To the person who brought up Mr. Weisenburger's theory regarding the
matter of sixes and sevens between Jessica and Roger, Mr. Flaherty I
believe -- forgive me if mistakenly -- I thought it would be interesting
to pose the question (almost typed "post the question") of what if
anything the 6:00 that is in Mr. Pointsman's ramblings the time of the
appearance of the light has any thing to do with this; also the 7
original owners of the book -- is P. at 6's and 7's wrt himself? (Also
-- 14 is the number of youths sacrificed to the Minotaur on an
enniennial basis.)

* The following sentence is bizarrely scrawled in my notes for this
section, after I make reference to not wanting to think about the
Kirghiz Light; "I better watch out I'm assigning you all like _roles_
here." Go figure.
