Me:
I have two Pugs (a great breed). One (Angel) is a "treat-whore." The other
(Igor) knows she covets his treat, so he just holds on to his for hours, if
he can remember to. She is smarter, though, and will run to the other side
of the house and start a barking diversion. When he runs to see what's up,
she'll run back to where he left his treat and snatch it. But that's OK
'cause he really didn't want it anyway. That sure seems like abstract
reasoning to me.

Me:
Dogs are almost the epitome of pure love. No matter how rough the day's
been, when I come home to their ecstatic greetings, it always refreshes.
Their idea of heaven is to snuggle w/ me on the sofa.

Now Pointsman, though, cuts them up alive, tortures them. And he can't live
w/ one. That pretty well establishes him as a villain.
