GRGR(3) 50.31 Love Pointsman Style

I was listening to a radio interview with one of the SF Giants yesterday
afternoon in the car and thought of the Pointsman passages under discussion
("You...") as I listened to Jeff Kent speak of himself using the second
person singular You instead of I -- to my ears, a strange, disembodied way
to talk about oneself, almost as weird as listening to Bob Dole call
himself Bob Dole: "Over the years, You gradually improve your defense so
You don't have to take that kind of criticism so often, and bringing up
three young children You gradually learn to control your temper so you
don't get tagged as much with the 'red ass' label." I may be more sensitive
to this than I should be, well trained in group sessions to clearly take
responsibility for my own words, feelings, and actions and signify such by
being careful to use I instead of You when talking about myself. ;-)
