Hackers

Seems to me I remember reading, maybe it was the Village Voice, that the 
threat that hackers pose to communications disruption is way overblown.  
Let's not forget that part at the seance in GR, where some in the Nazi 
hierarchy are reprimanded for thinking of instituting a policy that would 
undermine the future global market-place.  My point being, that it is not in 
the self-interest of hacking to be overly destructive as to, in the long 
run, pull the cyber legs out from under the hackee, by wiping out any 
semblance of power he has, killing his own way of communicating.
As Pynchon noted in the Stone Junction intro, there is a difference b/w 
outlaws and thieves.  The former know when to pick their spots and at the 
proper targets.
