Cryptonomicon is fantastic.  I have pretty low expectations about
the writing ability of cyberpunk authors, and Neal suddenly kicks
in this book.  It is still standard storytelling, but it has those
priceless wisdom nuggets that randomly unwrap in the middle of
a page and leave you gasping.  Some really good jabs too.  The
J.R.R. metaphor left me cackling.

Plus it is a damn good ride, and he finally writes a good ending.

Go the Cryptography museum at the NSA area in DC after you read it.
