So this section is in part about improvisation. Taking something as a
jumping off point, staying related to it, but changing it. In standard
jazz composition, the initial melody from which one improvises is called
'the head.' Get it? The head. First the head is the line about the
Kenosha Kid. Then the head is the tune Ko Ko/Cherokee. Then the head
is....well....the head.
