FWIW, since I'm seen by some and unseen by others as somewhat of an MC
to this version of the Slothrop Affair, I've had several offlist pleas
for me to beg for civility. Now I'm not particularly prone to presenting
myself as a human Wyrm-O-Matic but I will just this once take Murthy's
lead and beg for a continuance of the now genteel manner of discourse.
There are several P-listers who are unwilling to put their opinions out
there because they fear being demeaned. Now if they just need to be a
bit more thick-skinned, so be it. Their request of me seemed reasonable
so I'm passing it on. One individual suggested that I may come across a
bit nasty at times, so I consider myself one of the youse to whom these
complaints are being addressed. Personally, I'm going to continue being
nasty. Hopefully, others of youse will be more considerate.
