in the hinterland of one man's unconscious. Slothrop's. This is his
westwardman and no one else's. Little wonder that little Slothrop
playing Aaron to Kenosha Kid's Moses had to correct the omission of
article 'the.' KK was speaking from a context of universality. Slothrop

i'll buy that.
this is my second time through gr and now i am remembering "oh yeah this
section....what the fuck?".
keeping in mind what you posted above, 68.93 "there is someone playing a
mouth harp behind an outbuilding-some musical glutton, mouth-sucking giant
five-note chords behind the tune of red river valley". so we have the words
or images of red, water, out house, and harmonica. then there's the bit about
toro rojo ridin in and that "The redskin'll have a dog with him, the only dog
in these whole ashen plains..." so if there is only one of everything this
toro rojo is the indian mentioned earlier?
"the cur will mix it up with whappo and end hung on the meathook of an open
meat stall in the dirt plaza back in los madres" seems to suggest that this
has already happened and will happen again. so i guess it seems that these
battles are on a continous loop. the kenosha kid coda would also suggest this.
los madres...."the mothers" weird name for something in a world of singles.
who are the voices in the q and a section? slothrop and the doctor...himself?
