Thanks, Paul, and everybody else (haven't yet thanked the latest 
offlist helpers, Don C and Thomas E, personally -- you're great too.)

The thing is that I need the book soon. So I'm all too impatient to
wait for those approximately six weeks both Amazon (US and UK) and
Bookshop (UK) implied it would take to find the book and send it to 
this end.

But finally I did find an *Austrian* online bookstore www.lesezone.com;
they promised to send it to me at 192 Austrian shillings (~14 bucks?) 
with NO postage inside EU whatsoever... (Does this mean that EU isn't 
ALL bad?) Thomas & Kai: happen to know if this "Reading Zone" is OK?

davemarc's link (www.bibliofind.com) took me to Oregon, where "Studio
Books" supposedly has a fine used copy at $30. A bit pricy, but should 
some USian need it badly, and not find it in bookstores: just go for it.
