Couldn't agree more. I am a huge fan of fragmentation and dividedness.
That's what, in addition to Pynchon, draws me to James Hillman who
stands in opposition to Jung's views on integration (with *The Self* at
the helm) and champions what he calls a polytheistic psychology with a
myriad of gods and goddesses continually possessing and dispossessing
us, rendering human experience a confusing quagmire of shifting
thoughts, moods, and interpersonal struggles from which we are hopeless
to be redeemed.
