A feature of the US National Park Service (see the March 8, 1996 Scout
Report), this site provides information about the American civilizations
that resided in the lower Mississippi Delta from 500 to 1700. The highly
advanced agrarian civilizations, collectively known as the Mississippians,
erected massive earthworks, which formed the architectural and ceremonial
foundations of their communities. This Website contains images, photos,
