Wasn't that about the time that a certain person joined Pynchon-L and
entered a series of discussions and flame exchanges that were later
published in a certain book?  My sense from reading the archives some time
ago is that this disruption had an impact on the first GRGR, but I didn't
actually become a P-list subscriber until a couple of months later so can't
say I have any first-hand knowledge beyond what I read in the archives.

The idea of reading this, or some other book that TRP has singled out for
particular praise, sounds like fun.

I'd be willing to participate in such a project. And, re that "purple haze"
